It's bittersweet. "How I Met Your Mother" will enter its ninth and final season this fall, and while fans are sad to see it go, it's going out with a bang. The final season will introduce The Mother, whose identity was revealed during the season 8 finale, to each character one by one. It will include a slew of flashbacks that will remind heartfelt fans of all their favorite moments as well as tie up loose ends.
To give fans a hint, the titles of the first two episodes have been revealed. The first episode is titled "The Locket" and will feature a frustrated Marshall as he's escorted off an airplane as a result of his usual Marshall antics that fans have gotten to know and love over the years. Episode 2 will be called "Coming Back." There's no other information on what the episode will entail and the title's ambiguity makes it difficult to speculate.
In other "How I Met Your Mother' news, star Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Barney on the show, recently sat down with the Los Angeles Times and talked about the final season as well as his upcoming role in Broadway's "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and preparing for the prime-time Emmys, which he's hosting. In an interesting, offbeat twist, it's recently been pointed out that the show 'failed' its Spanish test. In the season 8 finale, Ted looks back on his trip to Spain while glancing at a map that has the cities Barcelona and Seville in the wrong places. Not only that, but Valencia is misspelt as Valencenia. In addition, Ted bumps into a so called Mexican mariachi band and dances so called Argentine tango. Way to go Ted. Blowing it.
Regardless of its clear lack of knowledge on all things Spanish, fans are still eager for the season 9 premiere, which will air on CBS on September 23.
