On Tuesday, July 24, Batman actor Christian Bale arrived to Aurora, Colorado to visit victims of the recent Century 16 theater shooting that took the lives of at least 12 people and injured dozens more.
Bale arrived at the Medical Center of Aurora where he was heard addressing himself to some patients.
The 'Dark Knight Rises' star was asked to visit the area after online petitions were posted on Change.org during the weekend but it is unclear if this was the main reason that prompted Bale to pay a visit.
Bale in another well documented visit in December 2011, was punched and aggressively stopped in China as he attempted to visit Chen Guangcheng, a Chinese blind activist. According to CNN, Bale desired to meet the man "shake his hand and tell him how big of an inspiration he is." His visit sparked further interest on the activist who as of May 2012 is on U.S. soil after negotiations with the Chinese government.
As for the Colorado theater shooting victims, Bale released a statement last Saturday stating, "Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them," it concluded.
On the other hand, the theater shooting suspect, James Holmes was seen in court Monday.
James Holmes is the prime suspect for fatally shooting 12 people and injuring 58 last Friday in the initial screening of the movie "The Dark Knight Rises,"
If convicted Holmes may face the death penalty which is allowed in the state.
Arapahoe County District Attorney Carol Chambers has the decision on whether or not Holmes faces death. She previously prosecuted two men now on Colorado's death row.
