Good news for fans of TNT's "Falling Skies." The network announced Tuesday that it plans to extend the drama for a fourth season. So far this summer, the show ranks as basic cable's number one scripted series among adults 18-49 and 25-54. When taking into account DVR activity, "Falling Skies" is averaging 5.8 million total viewers per episode, a 200,000 bump from season 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While the distant future remains bright, there's still plenty of season 3 to get through. The season is still in its first half. Episode 6 will air next Sunday, and here's a little taste of what fans can expect.

The episode, titled "Be Silent and Come Out," will feature Hal as he finally reveals his ongoing internal struggle, which could prove detrimental for the Masons. Lourdes is going to experiment with a new risky medical procedure while Charleston's government will experience a major shift in leadership after a group breaks away on a search and rescue mission. Watch a brief promo for "Be Silent and Come Out" below.

The drama from executive producer Steven Spielberg is part of several original scripted series at TNT, including "Dallas," "Major Crimes," "Franklin & Bash," "King & Maxwell" and the upcoming "The Last Ship, Legends" and "Lost Angels." While the majority have been renewed for future seasons, the fates of "Franklin & Bash" and "King & Maxwell" are still up in the air.

In addition to "Falling Skies," Spielberg currently has two shows on air. His "Under the Dome" debuted with extremely encouraging numbers and his new series "Lucky 7" will premiere on ABC later this year.

"Falling Skies" airs on TNT Sunday nights at 10pm.
