Apple placed 47.9 percent behind Android. The Cupertino-based organization's iOS platform finished second with 23.6 percent, comfortably ahead of Microsoft's Windows Phone.
Rounding up the top three were mobile operating systems that failed to hit double-digits. Finishing third is Windows Phone with 2.9 percent, ahead of Symbian's 1.3 percent.
