The 2013 BET Awards was held at the Nokia Theater last Sunday, with Chris Tucker hosting the event. After weeks of anticipation, beginning from the announcement of nominees at the Icon Ultra Lounge rooftop, the awards night went on without a hitch.

Chris Brown was among the first performers to confirm appearing during the awards night, with R. Kelly also performing.
R&B Artist Charlie Wilson was given the year's Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award.
Winning the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist award is Rihanna, beating Beyoncé, Tamar Braxton, Alicia Keys, and Elle Varner.
Miguel, with his second album "Kaleidoscope Dream," won this year's Best Male R&B/Pop Artist award, beating Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, and Usher.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis grabbed the Best Group award against Mary Mary, Mindless Behavior, Slaughterhouse and The Throne (Kanye West and Jay-Z).
Rocky, Drake, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick Lamar's "F---in' Problems" made the Best Collaboration award, beating out 2 Chainz, French Montana, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, and Kanye West's collaborative projects.
Lamar, meanwhile, won as the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and the Best New Artist awards.
Beating Azealia Banks, Eve, Rasheeda, and Rye Rye is Nicki Minaj for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist.
Drake's "Started from the Bottom" makes it as the Video of the Year, with Benny Boom winning the Video Director of the Year award.
Mary Mary won the Best Gospel Artist Award.
Kerry Washington won Best Actress, while Jamie Foxx won Best Actor. Gabrielle Douglas won the YoungStars award.
"Think Like a Man" won the Best Movie award.
For the sports categories, Gabrielle Douglas also won as the Subway Sportswoman of the Year, while LeBron James won as the Subway Sportsman of Year.
