The upcoming "Pokémon X and Y" video games will feature a number of new mechanisms but one capturing fans' attention is the new Sky Battles.
As Latinos Post reported, the sixth-generation of the Pokémon franchise will include two new battling systems: Hoarde Encounters and Sky Battles. The new battle systems have been joked, in a positive manner, such as the number of Zubats expected in Hoard Encounters and how some Flying types will appear.

Pokémon eligible to partake in Sky Battles are Flying-type Pokémon as well as those with the ability Levitate, such as Haunter and Gengar.
The concept of Sky Battles was then spoofed in a video uploaded on YouTube by Lightsen.
Titled "SKY BATTLES - Dodrio the flying champion," Flying types including Noctowl, Swellow, Pidgeot, and new sixth-generation Pokémon Talonflame are featured. The bird Pokémon appear confident against fellow dual Flying-and-Normal-type Dodrio, a Pokémon who doesn't have wings but yet can learn Fly, and it demands a battle.
The ending takes a humorous turn as another Flying-type Pokémon without wings appear and knocks down the before-mentioned confident bird Pokémon.
"Pokémon X and Y" will be released on October 12 across Australia, Europe, Japan and North America for the Nintendo 3DS.
