Laura Carmine revealed that her role in the telenovela "La Tempestad" will undergo changes.
The American born actress told TV Notas that she was very happy with role as Esthercita. She stated that it was a huge challenge because her character goes through many emotional states and could be unpredictable. Carmine also told the news source that her character was going to have a drastic change in the upcoming episodes and would surprise the audience. She added that the changes were not due to the low ratings the series obtained but something that was planned from the beginning of the project.
Carmine also gave a shout out to her viewers and said that the series had a lot of intense moments that would shake up the characters in the telenovela and would shock audiences.
The actress concluded by stating that she was grateful to the producers for casting her in the series. She also said that she was happy that her career was taking off so quickly and that she hoped to one day expand her career to film while doing TV.
Carmine made her debut telenovela debut in "Ni Contigo Ni Sin Ti" with Eduardo Santamarina. She later appeared in "Por Ella Soy Eva," "Quein Eres Tu," and "Amor Bravio."
Throughout the past weeks "La Tempestad" underwent a number of changes. The production team contracted Arturo Peniche and Marianna Seoane to boost up ratings and cast Rene Casados in a key role. The telenovela has also received negative reviews and bad criticism over William Levy's Cuban accent and Ximena Navarrete's lack of experience. The actors later defended their work and stated that they were doing their best work and learning from each experience.
"La Tempestad" is based on the popular Colombian series "La Tormenta" which starred Natalia Streignard and Christian Meier. The series also stars, Ivan Sanchez, Jessica Coch, Diana Bracho, Cesar Evora, Alfonso Herrera and Luis Manuel Avila. "La Tempestad" airs in the in US in July on Univision.
