Once a zombie, always a zombie. There's no going back. The same can be said for fans of AMC's "The Walking Dead." Once you're hooked by the zombie drama, there's no letting go. You're in it for the long haul. Although the show is currently on its summer hiatus, that doesn't mean the action comes to a complete halt. There's plenty to prepare for season 4, so naturally fans are clawing to get their paws on any information they can as they wait for the season premiere.

Before the premiere, however, fans will get a season 4 preview that will air July 4 weekend. According to ComicBook.com, the "Walking Dead Season 4 Preview Weekend" will feature a brand new sneak peek into the forthcoming season.

"It's unknown exactly what type of sneak peek will air, but rumors suggest cast interviews and a brief look at some season 4 footage," the site reads. "We know for sure that both episode 1 and 2 of 'The Walking dead' season 4 completed filming earlier this month, and it's likely that episode 3 and maybe episode 4 are completed by now as well."

In other big "Walking Dead" news, executive producer and director Greg Nicotero revealed some interesting details regarding the season 4 premiere.

"What's nice about the first episode is that they always supersize it and give you an extra day," Nicotero said. "Because they know that the script is going to be insanely filled with great drama and great action, and we certainly didn't skimp on anything in this one."

"In the first episode this season, one of the guys in my crew was like, 'You did every gag that you ever did in three years of 'The Walking Dead' in one episode.' We had walkers. We had mummified corpses. We had puppets. We had zombie bites... There were even a couple of gags that we came up with on the fly - there was a couple of sculptures that my guys in Los Angeles had done and I said, 'Oh yeah, that's a great walker.' Where people are like, 'What are the iconic walkers for Season 4 going to be?' I'm like, 'Well, you'll just have to see!'"

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC on October 13.
