Nokia has released an update for the Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 smartphone.

The software update is labeled "SW 1232.5962.1314.0001," but the availability may vary on the network service provider.

The update focuses on four aspects with the first being an improvement on the automatic display brightness adjustment. A fix on the screen blanking during a call is included along with improvements on connectivity issues with some network conditions.

Finally, according to Nokia, improvements on the device's performance and stability wraps up the update.

To obtain the update, users should tap "Settings" and select "phone update."

The Lumia 820 features include a screen size of 4.3 inches with 800x480 pixels. The Windows Phone 8 smartphone has 8GB of internal storage with 1GB of RAM, but its microSD card slot can add up to 64GB of additional space.

The camera specifications for the Lumia 820 include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels and a front-facing camera with Video Graphics Array (VGA). The wireless connectivity include NFC, USB version 2.0, Bluetooth, and the standard Wi-Fi 802 a/b/g/n.

Finally, the Lumia 820 has 1,650mAh for up to 330 hours on standby and eight hours of talk time when under a 3G network.
