Fans of ABC's summer drama "Rookie Blue" will finally get a new episode today after a brief hiatus due to the NBA finals. The show, which returns with the episode "Different, Not Better," will be full of action and, of course, lots of drama.
ABC teases, "Andy (Missy Peregrym) and officer Marlo Cruz (Rachael Ancheril), Swarek's (Ben Bass) new girlfriend, butt heads on their first patrol together. Their different ways of handling the job are put to the test when they confront an emotionally disturbed woman who is losing control-and explode when one of them is forced to make a crucial life-saving decision to pull the trigger."
In a promo for the upcoming episode, fans can see that there is definitely some tension between the two cops. "Meanwhile, the rest of 15 Division is hunting down an armed burglar with a novel MO after a string of ATM robberies," ABC teases.
What about Dov (Gregory Smith) and rookie Chloe Price (Priscilla Faia)? ABC says, "Dov is forced to work with new rookie Chloe Price after their indiscreet first encounter." Talk about awkward. In an interview with TVLine, Smith said, "At first, it's incredibly awkward because they hook up in a bathroom stall at the end of Episode 2 and then they're riding together in Episode 3. It's like the ultimate ride of shame."
Smith added, "She's an officer at our precinct, but there's also a deeper connection, which puts Dov on a collision course with somebody that he doesn't want to be on a collision course with."
But is their relationship just a random, albeit awkward, hookup? Smith told TVLine, "Yeah. It starts that way where she's toying with him. But they definitely find a kindred spirit in one another over time."
"Rookie Blue" airs tonight, June 27 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
