"The Hunger Games" has established itself as one of the most influential sagas of the decade. Alongside "Game of Thrones" and other fantastical series, it has quickly become embedded in the hearts of fans worldwide. Since its movie debut last year, it has quickly secured its spot among royalty such as "Harry Potter" and "The Lord of the Rings." Perhaps it hasn't achieved that level of success, however, it's on its way. To no surprise, "The Hunger Games" has earned yet another panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con next month.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" cast and crew will be making their way to San Diego to share details on the forthcoming second installment of "The Hunger Games" saga, according to Entertainment Weekly. It's not clear who exactly will be present, but Lionsgate promises that "Catching Fire" "talent" will be in attendance. Fans hope and pray for appearances from heavy hitters like Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, at least one of which is likely to show up.
The Lionsgate panel will also feature actors from "I, Frankenstein," starring actors such as Aaron Eckhart, Yvonne Strahovski and Bill Nighy. The horror/thriller film will hit theaters in 2014 and follows Frankenstein as he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
The July 20 panel will debut an exclusive new trailer for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and never-before-seen footage from "I, Frankenstein."
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" hit theaters November 22 via Lionsgate. Read the official synopsis below.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.
