The ongoing investigation into the Colorado Movie Massacre has revealed that aside from dangerous explosive gadgets, there was also a great deal of Batman paraphernalia found in James Holmes' apartment in Aurora, Colorado.

According to investigators, there was a Batman poster on the wall, a mask of the Caped Crusader, and multitude of other items associated with the superhero.

The finding is just latest in plethora of recent findings on the killer. According to the Los Angeles Times, a number of trip wires were attached to more than 30 improvised grenades littered throughout the suspect's living room floor. There were also 10 gallons of gasoline.

On Saturday, investigators had found that there was trip wire located waist-high just inside the door when they went to check out Holmes' apartment. Had the door been opened, it would have set off an explosive. There were also jars containing explosive liquids and bullets. All of the improvised explosives were connected to a "control" box in the kitchen which authorities neutralized and dismantled.

Officials seized numerous chemical compounds and a desktop computer in hopes of finding more information on the mysterious suspect.

Holmes, 24, was a student working on his PhD in Neuroscience. Neighbors stated that he was a well-tempered young man and that his behavior never indicated or predicted his actions on Friday July 20 when he opened fire on a movie crowd watching the premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises." Holmes killed 12 people, left 58 injured, and terrorized an entire nation. No motive has been given for Holmes' behavior. He did however tell officials that he was the Joker, a fiction villain from the Batman universe who was portrayed as a chaotic force of calculated destruction in the 2008 film "The Dark Knight."
