"Star Wars" creator George Lucas married his fiance and longtime girlfriend Mellody Hobson this weekend during an intimate ceremony among friends and family on Saturday.

Lucas, 69, and Hobson, 44, tied the knot at Lucas's Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, Calif. on Saturday evening, according to Yahoo! News.

The "Star Wars" magnate got engaged to his longterm girlfriend in January, after having dated since 2006. Though this was Lucas' second marriage, it was the first time that Hobson has walked down the aisle.

The Huffington Post reports that journalist Bill Moyers officiated the wedding, providing moving words for the couple's nuptuals.

"It only takes one person to have met the love of your life," Moyers said during the service, before going on to quote classical Persian poet Rumi.

"When I heard my first love story, I was thinking of you," he said.

Steven Spielberg toasted the groom during the reception and director Francis Ford Coppola reportedly read the couple a love poem by Maya Angelou.

Among those who performed for party-goers at the reception were R&B and soul musician Janelle Monae, as well as Van Morrison, who flew in from Ireland just for the occasion.

While Lucas's fame in the world of film is well-known, his new wife mostly works behind-the-scenes. Hobson is president of Ariel Investments, a chairman of Dreamworks Animation, and also a financial contributor with CBS.

Business Insider reports that Hollywood A-listers took to the Twittersphere to tweet their congratulations to the newlywed couple.

"Let's give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas and his Bride Melodie in This their WEDDING DAY!! Congrats!!!!!" Samuel L. Jackson tweeted on Saturday night.

"George Lucas Melody Hobson wedding was joy to behold Bill Moyers service was beautiful, nothing short of profound. Congrats Mr&Mrs Lucas," Ron Howard tweeted Sunday morning.
