In the season finale of "How I Met Your Mother," the show revealed the coveted secret that has driven the show since the beginning. Now that her identity is known, it's time to introduce her to the rest of the cast. The final season of the comedy sitcom will feature Cristin Milioti as she meets the gang one by one over the course of Barney and Robin's long weekend wedding. It's going to be bittersweet to say goodbye, but the final season is sure to bring plenty of laughs and heartfelt moments as it ties up all its loose ends.
The cast will come together to host a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con to share their insight into the forthcoming season as well as reminisce on their time working on the show. According to TVLine, the panel will feature the five core stars, Neil Patrick Harris, Cobie Smulder, Josh Radnor, Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan, as well as executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and director Pamela Fryman. It will take place on Saturday, July 20. Unfortunately, Cristin Milioti will not be in attendance.
CBS recently announced the official premiere date, making the finale season much more of a reality. So set your calendars for September 23 at 8 p.m. ET. "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 will premiere with a special hour-long episode to kick things off the right way.
During his recent appearance on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," star Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Barney Stinson, talked about the upcoming final season while promoting the 67th Tony Awards.
"It's bittersweet. No one wanted the show to just go on for a multitude of years where we just never said who the Mother was, you know, when the title of the show sort of begets an answer. So we showed who the Mother was at the last scene of this last season, which was kind of awesome. So it's nice. We've had a lovely almost decade of a chapter there."
Bittersweet indeed. Regardless, we can't wait to see how the dramatic conclusion will pan out.
