"True Blood" is back. Vampire fans rejoice. Not only has the series returned for its sixth season, but the premiere episode proves that it will be one of the wildest, bloodiest ones yet. As fans gear up for the second episode, they anxiously wait to see how Bill's ominous return and the war on vampires will shape the rest of the season.
In the premiere episode, Sookie attempts to put a stake through his heart, but his new powers prove him impervious to the standard methods of vampire offing, and it got the critics buzzing. Liane Bonin Starr of HitFix said that Bill might as well take the stake and "pick his teeth with it for effect."
While some fans and critics are excited about Bill's transformation, others aren't as amused.
"Seriously true blood.. I'm not feeling the fact that bill is flying around like he's super man wtf? First episode was blah," writes Cory Malcolm on Twitter.
"Finally watched the season premiere of #TrueBlood and I hope Bill stays looking like Bill and not bloody creepy Lillith Bill," writes Kelly P. Unfortunately, it looks like Bill will be keeping his Billith form through the duration of season 6, so fans should get used to it.
"This season of @TrueBloodHBO is going to be EPIC! Bill is awesome!!!!!" tweets Moyer Nipples. That's the attitude.
Looking forward, HBO has released a series of photos from episode 2. Check them out here.
