Batman: Arkham Origins is the third game in the popular series, and the first to be developed by WB Games Montreal, who have taken over the series from Rocksteady. This shift in developers has worried some fans who are concerned that the new studio will not be able to bring the same critically acclaimed experience Rocksteady was able to accomplish.  Eric Holmes, creative director for WB Montreal, told Gamespot that, while he understands that some fans are wary of the move, he believes in the team developing Origins:

"I would say that people have the right to be cynical; they have the option to be cynical...Come and play the game at one of these events where we bring the game. And I think as soon as you've got the pad in your hand, you're going to see that this game is authentic and uses the same underpinnings and core mechanics of the previous Arkham games."

Rocksteady has stated that they are confident in WB Montreal's ability to continue on with the series, and WB Montreal is ready to add their own touches to the game to make Origins the best Arkham game yet. One of the features that Holmes highlighted is that the game's story, already on of the series trademarks, is stronger than ever:

"And I think we have a great story...I can't tell you too much about...but I can tell you I'm really excited about our story...I think it's a very important Batman story and I think fans are going to love that probably more than any other thing in the game."

Batman: Arkham Origins is a prequel to the original Arkham game, and is set many years before the events of the first game. In this game a much younger Batman must deal with several of his iconic rogues gallery teaming up to try and stop his crusade against crime. The game will be out October 25 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.
