"Injustice: Gods Among Us" recently disclosed that Zod, the Superman villain famous for his appearances in the Superman film franchises, will be the fourth and final character in the game's season pass package.
However, there will be more characters on the way for the game, according to a report in the International Business Times.
The report indicates that Injustice developer NetherRealm Studios has more characters set to appear in the game as DLC, though no specifics were mentioned in the article. This could be good news, as some have felt that the game's DLC characters were a bit lackluster.
While the release of Lobo was met with enthusiasm, Batgirl, Zod, and especially Mortal Kombat's Scorpion experienced various degrees of apathy, and even hostility, from fans. While an informal poll was taken asking fans who they wanted to appear in the game, so far no mention of the poll's favorites such as Zatanna and Red Hood have come up in NetherRealm's plans for the game.
Perhaps NetherRealm, realizing that their choices for DLC characters in the season pass were not meeting fan expectations, decided to add the fans' popular choices into the game. After all, many fans have been very vocal about their desire to see Martian Manhunter included in the game, so much so that the character was left out of the poll because it was assumed he would win.
This news may mean that NetherRealm is ready to deliver the content that fans have been waiting for, and though they will not get a chance to get the characters for a discounted rate, it does mean that the chance is still there for some of DC Comics' other characters get a chance to shine. Look out for more "Injustice: Gods Among Us" DLC news as Zod's release draws closer and the game's season pass ends.
