The new iOS 7 app icons might have already seen a facelift, less than a week after its debut at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference.

The iOS 7, upon its debut last Monday, featured updated app icons with relatively "simplistic" texture.

According to reports, Apple.com featured alternative app icons for Passbook, Weather, and Reminders. The different app icons did not last long on the official Apple website and was replaced with the icons seen during the 2013 WWDC keynote.

In describing the alternative icons, the Weather app ditched the sun and cloud for the numeral temperature. The Passbook icon looked fairly similar except for the lower-orange folder appearing in a different shade of green.

Apple's Senior Vice President of Design Jony Ive described the changes within iOS 7 with the heavy focus on "simplicity."

"There is a profound and enduring beauty in simplicity, in clarity, in efficiency," said Ive. "True simplicity is derived from so much more than just the absence of clutter and ornamentation-it's about bringing order to complexity."

The iOS 7 will be available in the fall, however, developers can obtain a beta version right now. By visiting Apple's Developer page, people can toy with the upcoming mobile platform as long as they have an iOS developer account, which cost $99 per year through Apple. The iOS 7 beta is prone to potential bugs and crashes since it is still in its early stages, which is why Apple promotes the beta version, to avoid such occurrences ahead of its full launch.
