Most fans of Injustice: Gods Among Us have eagerly awaited more news on who would be the fourth and final character released under the games season pass DLC, and now the game's Facebook page has spilled the beans. The final character is none other than Zod, Superman's enemy from the upcoming Man of Steel movie.
Zod is one of Superman's most well known villains, appearing first in the Christopher Reeve Superman films before getting a modern reboot in Man of Steel. He is also a member of the Planet Krypton, who avoided the planets demise because he and his cohorts were trapped in an intergalactic jail. He shares many of the same super powers as Superman, but lacks the moral foundation that guides Superman.
It is safe to say that Zod will be more of a brawler-type character, who will rely on his brute strength in order to win matches in Injustice: Gods Among Us. He may also be the first outright evil character released as DLC for the game. Batgirl obviously adheres to her strict moral guidelines, while Lobo and Mortal Kombat's Scorpion are arguably both anti-heroes who have drawn in legions of fans with their rebellious behavior. Zod, however, is another tier of villain, so it will be interesting to see how the character is used in the game.
Injustice: Gods Among Us has been a critical and commercial hit, as fighting fans have eagerly lined up at the chance to play as some of their favorite DC characters and have them duke it out. The game's developer, NetherRealm, offered a season pass for DLC in which players would get four DLC characters for the price of three individual fighters. With the impending release of Zod, that season pass will be over with.
What do you think? Do you kneel before Zod, or feel like another character should have been added to the game?
