Call of Duty: Ghosts was one of the most highly anticipated games to show up at this year's E3, and Activision made sure to reward their faithful fans by releasing loads of new information about the game before and during the conference. We highlight some of the features that will make this Call of Duty the best one yet.

First off, there is the immensely popular dog squad member, Riley, who adds several new dimensions to the game. Riley can be used to scout out areas, and players will control the dog using a camera mounted on his back. Riley can also be used to take down guards, ripping out throats of enemies once they are downed. The dog can also act as distraction by barking at foes, or by jumping behind or around cover to expose an enemy.

There was a wide variety of environments shown for the game during E3. Run down cities, tall skyscrapers, and even aquatic missions were all shown during Activision's pre-E3 rundown of the game. The game appears more subtle than previous Call of Duty games, with stealth seen much more predominantly than previous games in the series. Rather than going in guns blazing, players must take down foes quietly and with grim precision.

Nothing has been shown yet of the game's multiplayer, which remains the biggest question about Call of Duty: Ghosts. While all the emphasis has been on the single player campaign and the huge amount of work that has been put into it, Activision has been silent on the multiplayer portion of the game. Will players be able to play multiplayer as a dog character? How will the stealthier gameplay affect the series trademark bombastic matches?  We still have no answers for these questions.

While Call of Duty's biggest rival, Battlefield 4, wowed E3 with its dynamic multiplayer and chaotic missions, Ghosts went for a more cerebral approach. We shall see if that benefits the game when it comes out November 5 on current gen systems.
