Titanfall, the new IP from new developer Respawn Entertainment certainly wowed people during it's reveal during Microsoft's E3 conference, as well as the follow up demo during EA's conference. The game will be an multiplayer mix of a first-person shooter and mech combat game, where players can run around a futuristic map attacking the other team, and then can jump into a customized mech warrior and deliver a new level of combat. This game will be exclusive to the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC at first, but lead artist for the game Joel Emslie told Eurogamer that a PlayStation 4 version of Titanfall could happen:
"It's definitely not out of the question...We have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we're super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all our fans, whatever console they support...So yeah. We want to make everybody happy, but this is where we're at right now."
Emslie, who, along with Vince Zampella and Jason West left Activision Infinity Ward and formed Respawn, is very proud of Titanfall and being one of the hottest exclusives on the next-gen consoles and being able to share the game they have worked so hard on. He wants Titanfall to be experienced by as many people as possible, and that, plus the wheelbarrows full of money the game would make on the PlayStation 4, may drive the game to other consoles. As Emslie says himself:
"When you boil it down, we would love to be everywhere, but we're just starting out," Emslie explained. "It comes down to quality, not quantity. We have a fantastic relationship with Microsoft. It just boiled down to, okay, how can we hit this as hard as can and get it on as many platforms as possible and deliver the quality, the 60 hertz, out of the gate? That was the goal. We of course would want to go further in the future with stuff, but we're just starting out. It's pretty frustrating! We want to be everywhere. We want to put Titanfall everywhere, but that's where we're at. We're starting there."
Look out for Titanfall in the spring of 2014.
