The June firmware updates for the Microsoft Surface tablets are now available for download.
Starting with the Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro, only one major camera update is provided. The Surface with Windows 8 Pro focuses on driver and performance improvements including the LifeCam driver, which enhances clarity during low-light operation. Another improvement is the reliability when switching between the integrated camera and an external camera.

The June update for the Surface with Windows RT is different from its Windows 8 Pro counterpart, and good news, it doesn't deal with any Wi-Fi improvements as seen since its launch in October.
The Surface with Windows RT update includes an improvement on the Surface Home Button, enhancing the reliability of the device's waking up following the first button press. The second firmware update focuses on the Surface Type Cover and Surface Touch Cover. Developments on the ability to toggle function keys, new shortcuts, and keyboard navigation are also integrated with the firmware update.
The updates should appear automatically on the Surface tablets, but users can manually install the updates just in case. To manually install the firmware update, for either variant of the Surface tablets, first, swipe from the right edge of the display and then tap or click "Settings." Next, select "Change PC settings." Under PC settings, tap or click "Windows Update." Finally, tap or click "Check for updates now."
Restarting the Surface after the updates may be necessary to complete installation.
