EA followed Microsoft's E3 presentation this week, focusing on their lineup of next-gen titles in development. Despite the bumpy year they've had so far, the publisher really shined on stage, going the extra mile to prove that they're still committed to the fans. Here are a few of the presentation's highlights.

Popcap Shows Up, Totally Makes It Work

When Popcap shows up to an E3 press conference, you can expect to see a lot of disappointed journalists who were hoping to get the scoop on the next big AAA franchise installment. However, Popcap unveiled a surprising Plants vs Zombies shooter, before proceeding to completely floor the audience with the game's blend of solid mechanics and amusing tongue-in-cheek stylings. Plus, Peggle 2 was confirmed.

Battlefront Lives On!

Was it surprising that DICE's Star Wars game turned out to be Battlefront? No, but that doesn't mean it isn't awesome. After all of the drama and layoffs during the Disney acquisition, many assumed that the Battlefront franchise was lost forever. Luckily, EA is flexing its exclusive license muscle, and is making sure fans are getting the third installment they've been waiting so long for.

Battlefield 4 Wows The Crowd

Excitement surrounding Battlefield 4 was already pretty high going into E3, which made it all the more surprising just how strong of a presentation EA put on for it. Setting up a full 64-player match on stage, the developers showcased just how incredible the tech going into this game is. It's even more impressive that the level of visual intensity shown wasn't even from a CG trailer or scripted singleplayer sequence, but during a live multiplayer demo.

In a hall full of journalists, investors, and other professionals, it takes a lot to get an E3 crowd really going. However, when that building came tumbling down, the entire room was on the edge of their seats.

Titanfall is Much More Than A Call of Duty Clone

The first game from ex-Call of Duty developers Respawn has been one of the main attractions at this year's E3. They had a pretty significant slot during Microsoft's press conference, and EA was sure to follow that up with a healthy helping of gameplay during their own briefing.

After changing the entire multiplayer landscape six years ago, Respawn is looking to do it again with Titanfall. Combining slick multiplayer gameplay with the atmosphere and storytelling of a singleplayer set piece, the title is looking to be one of the most unique shooters in recent memory. Plus, it has giant robots, and you can't go wrong there.

Mirror's Edge 2 Exists

If you were looking for a sign that maybe EA is trying to turn its reputation around, this might be it. A financial failure, Mirror's Edge has nonetheless become a cult classic, and its very vocal fan base has been requesting a sequel for years.

Despite the low odds of the game being a huge moneymaker, EA is nonetheless rewarding the fans for their patience and passion. Good on you EA, I really hope this is the start of a new era for that company.
