Final Fantasy and Square Enix needed a big E3 to make up for the rough patch they have had in recent months and years. With several employees at the top leaving the company and disappointing sales, the developer needed a big showing from their top franchise in order to restore some faith their fans have lost. Well at E3 2013, Final Fantasy was able to come to Square Enix's rescue. Square Enix will be holding a live stream of their E3 lineup, but we bring you a preview of what to expect from the company.
Possibly the biggest shock from Final Fantasy was the return of Final Fantasy Versus 13, which has now become Final Fantasy 15. It was rumored that the game was going through a massive change behind the scenes, and now we know why, as the game had to transition to the PlayStation 4. Both teaser and gameplay footage for the game was shown, so perhaps we shall see more of the game from Square Enix later.
Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn should also be part of Square Enix's lineup. The game should be entering beta soon, and the long-suffering MMO should be available in some form at E3. Footage of the game explaining the many different tweaks and changes to the game would be most appreciated from fans who toiled through the games messy first version.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 should also make an appear at E3. The recently delayed game recently had it's E3 Trailer released to the public, so that may be all that is shown by the company, especially if the delay is because the game is getting some major work done on it.
Finally, though it may not be a true Final Fantasy game, Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced as coming to the PlayStation 4 during Sony's press conference, and we could potentially see some more sneak peeks at the game during the live stream. The announcement trailer did have some gameplay footage in it, so the possibility is there.
