On June 14th, Warner Bros will unveil "Man of Steel" nationwide.

The film, which stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, and Michael Shannon, tells the story of a young journalist who is forced to confront his secret extraterrestrial heritage when Earth is invaded by members of his race.

The film had its world premiere on June 10 at Alice Tully Hall in New York and was met with generally positive reviews. It currently has an 86% aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes as of Monday night.

Todd McCarthy of The Hollywood Reporter was positive about the film and stated "There's big, and then there's this Superman (but don't call him that)."

Jordan Hoffman of Screen Crush gave the film a nine out of 10 and said, "If comic book heroes are our modern Greek gods, 'Man of Steel' is solid enough to stand proudly atop Mount Olympus."

Meanwhile Kam Williams of AALBC.com said "A righteous, riveting relaunch leaving no doubt that, even after 80 years, you still don't tug on Superman's cape!"

Ign.com gave the film a 9 out of 10 and said "It might just be Zack Snyder's Best Film."

There were however a couple of critics who did not enjoy the blockbuster. Eric Kohn from Indiewire gave the film a C+ and stated, "Instead of making a blockbuster Superman movie, Snyder has turned the Superman narrative into yet another modern day blockbuster."

Scott Foundas from Variety was also negative and stated, "A humorless tone and relentlessly noisy aesthetics drag down this heavily hyped, brilliantly marketed tentpole attraction"

The film was produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) and was directed by Snyder (Watchman).

"Man of Steel" will open at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 12 and hits theaters on June 14. The film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language.
