Amanda Bynes will record her first rap album.
According to Daniel Herman of Chinga Chang Records, major record companies Sony and Orchard have approved a deal for Bynes. He stated, "I cleared the project with The Orchard and Sony Entertainment and they gave me the green light to go ahead."
Herman also revealed that he had spoken to Bynes' attorney for approval of the contract. "I think she's more gangster than Drake. The fact that Amanda wants to do hip-hop music means that Chinga Chang label is the best place for her to do this, because of my past experience with bringing pop and legitimate hip-hop together," he said.
Bynes has recently expressed interest in being a rap star. On May 9 she wrote on Twitter, "I love singing and I can't wait to start working on an album."
On May 27 she tweeted, "Look forward to seeing me in music videos! I'm getting in shape and getting a nose job! I'm looking forward to a long and wonderful career as a singer/rapper!"
Bynes' fans and hip-hop celebrities have already endorsed her idea. Rapper Waka Flocka Flame recently told InTouch that she could be the next Pink and that he wanted help Bynes grow in the industry. He stated, "I reached out to her, I got a great production team for her, I got great records in the process of being made for her, so hopefully that's something she takes a look at. She just wants a change."
The rapper also stated that they communicated online and that she could be the next big thing because "she's got to be her own person." He concluded that if Bynes chose an artistic name it should be "AB."
