Egypt will look to clinch the top spot in Group G when it takes on Zimbabwe in the World Cup 2014 qualifiers on Sunday.

The Pharaohs are currently in first place in the group with nine points in three matches. The best team moves on to the third round to take on another group winner in a two-legged playoff with a berth at the World Cup finals next summer on the line.

Despite tremendous continental success over the last few years, the Egyptians have not qualified for the world's biggest tournament since 1990; they have only qualified twice in their history with the other appearance coming in 1934.

With a victory on Sunday, Egypt would have 12 points in group play. At that point, only one team could catch or surpass the Egyptians with wins in its final three games; that team would be a weak Guinea side that has one victory in its first three. If Guinea were to draw or lose to Mozambique in its match Saturday, an Egyptian victory would eliminate the other three clubs.

The Pharaohs opened their tournament with a 2-0 win over Mozambique and took down Guinea 3-2 in their second game. Egypt then took down Zimbabwe 2-1 in its most recent game.

Zimbabwe desperately needs to win on Saturday. With only one point in six games, the team is on its last legs. A victory in its last three games would only get Zimbabwe a maximum of nine points; Egypt would only need one point in its final two games to eliminate the squad.

Prediction: Egypt pulls off a huge 4-1 victory.

Start Time: Kick off starts at 9 AM Eastern Standard Time.

TV Info: The match will not be transmitted on television in North America.
