If LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and the remaining players of the current U.S. men's national basketball team were to face Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone and the rest of the 1992 Dream Team, there is no doubt that, as Kobe Bryant mentioned last week, the 2012 team would probably end up winning the match.

Not only have all of the players of the original Dream Team retired, but most of them have apparently picked up other sports like golf that are slower paced. Thus, not only would the younger roster beat them to the dribble but since for most of the former players it's been long since they last played an NBA game, it would be hard to visualize Jordan and Co. keeping up with LeBron's tempo for 48 straight minutes.

No offense intended there, just being literal and trying to draw some attention.

If both teams were to face each other playing their best career basketball, however, that would be a totally different story as it seems that most people believe, according to a poll, that 1992 would end up with a win.

It is important to highlight, however, that believing and being are two very different things. Thus, it may always be easy to debate who one believes to be superior but what will always remain difficult is proving one team to be better than the other.

According to the online poll however, 83 percent of the votes believe that the 1992 U.S National Basketball team would win in a game against the current roster which is preparing itself for this year's London Olympic Games.

Out of 2,556 votes, 2,121 voted in favor of the 1992 roster  compared to only 416 votes or 16 percent in favor of the 2012 roster. 1 percent believed otherwise.

A second conducted poll also found that 84 percent of 606 voters considered the 1992 Dream Team the best  Olympic USA men's basketball team to date compared to 8 percent who believe the 2012 'Dream Team' is be better.

Although the voting pool for the unscientific poll is not a large number, no repeat votes were counted and most votes came from U.S. IP addresses.

Having shared the poll results, the finality of it, if any, may have perhaps been bringing to the table a particular perspective to help better contemplate the debate over which basketball team is history's best under in a different light.
