This week, Telltale games has hinted at the release of new content for their episodic The Walking Dead game on Twitter Vine, which depict an unknown character hanging up pictures of other people on a wall, identified by a specific date marker. In a leak which seems to fall in line with the themes found in the videos, Steamdb has released a listing for The Walking Dead: 400 Days DLC.
This would explain the titles of the videos, which are labeled with several different numbers. For example, the first video was labeled Day 2, and the follow up titled Day 220, which had many fans assuming that the videos were hinting at a reveal for the sequel for the first series of episodes. However, this listing calls the content as DLC, indicating that Telltale's desire to release extra episodes between the first and second game is indeed coming true. Gary Whitta told IGN back in February that they wanted to release more content for The Walking Dead to tie fans over until season two becomes available.
"I can tell you what you already know, which is season two is coming. There's not much to say because it is really very early...it's a way off...But, knowing that it's a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more Walking Dead...there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two. We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two."
It will be interesting to see if and how seasons one, two, and 400 Days tie into each other. Anyone who has finished the first season knows that there is ample opportunity to tell any number of compelling stories. There is no release date for 400 Days, but The Walking Dead Season 2 will reportedly launch in fall of 2013.
