Mariana Seoane will join the cast of the soap opera "La Tempestad," according to the show's producer Salvador Mejía. The Mexican model and actress will play the role of Romina, a villain which will form a love triangle with Marina (Ximena Navarrete) and Captain Damian Fabre (William Levy).
Seoane's character travels from Monterrey to the town of Nuestra Señora del Mar to complicate the lives of the stars of "La Tempestad."
"I'm going to do a lot of things with the villains. I'm going after the bones of Captain Fabre, there will be very funny things and a lot of passion, it will make people talk, with Seoane's," the actress told Univision.
The soap tells the story of Marina, a young entrepreneur who loses her job and is forced to move to the town Nuestra Señora del Mar for work. And while there, she meets Captain Damian, a tough guy who has a contract with the shipping company that she has come to manage. The problems appear immediately and the couple begins to have troubles that end up tangled in uncontrollable passion.
The incorporation of Mariana Seoane seems to be one of the first changes on the production under Salvador Mejia, who is seeking to increase the audience levels of the soap that airs during primetime on Channel 2 in Mexico and soon will hit the screens of the United States via Univision. Mejia also confirmed that Arturo Peniche will join the cast to play the role of Marina's father.
And while the Mexican actress is joining the soap opera, rumors surfaced about a romance between her and Levy, because of some photos published by the magazine Tvnotas where he looks very effusive, greeting his coworker outside a restaurant. But the actor has denied this story.
Days ago, Levy was highly praised by Will Smith after confirming that the Cuban actor will be part of "Salsa," a new film that Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, produces and stars in. Shooting is expected to begin early next year.
"He's a genius, very talented, strong, handsome and intelligent. It's as if he were already a global superstar; it will give me great pleasure to see him getting there," said Smith to the magazine People en Español.
