In news that fans have been waiting for for quite awhile now, Blizzard has announced that the Diablo 3 port to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will launch on September 3. This news comes trait from Blizzard's own Battle.net.
"On September 3, evil will be reborn on console systems throughout the world with the release of Diablo III on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft. That's right, Diablo III will be unleashing hell on both Xbox 360 and PS3 before summer's end,"
While the PlayStation 3 version of Diablo 3 has been announced for some time, this is the first time a Xbox 360 version of the game has been mentioned. The reason for this delay is unknown, and because both versions of the game are coming out at the same time, it can be inferred that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were being worked on at the same time. There is still no word on when the PlayStation 4 version of Diablo 3 is set to come out, as the PlayStation 4 itself does not have a set release date yet. Perhaps we will see an Xbox One port of Diablo 3 as well.
Players can also preorder both versions of the game, which comes with a bonus Infernal Helm, which boosts the experience gain by the player. Blizzard describes the preorder bonus as such:
"Wearable at level 1, the Infernal Helm confers a +EXP bonus to help you whip your new PlayStation or Xbox characters into shape. Plus, it looks sweet as hell on all five mortal heroes of Sanctuary-be it the Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Wizard, Demon Hunter, or Monk."
Look out for more information about the console version of Diablo 3, as well as updates to the already out PC version, as E3 approaches.
