Khyati Shah, the woman who R&B star Miguel accidentally kicked in the head during a performance, may have suffered brain damage.

Shah's lawyer, Vip Bhola, told TMZ that his client may have suffered a serious trauma after the award show incident.

During the Billboard Music Awards, Miguel was performing his hit "Adorn" when he was moved by the music to make a dangerous a stunt.

According to Us Magazine, the star attempted to jump from one side of the stage to another-leaping over a section of audiences-when he miscalculated his reach and fell short of the stage. Miguel lands on a couple of fans, including Khyati which he accidentally kicked on the face.

Videos form the performance clearly show Shah falling to the ground immediately after the kick.

Attorney Bhola noted, however, that the show personnel only offered Shah an ice pack instead of bringing her directly to the hospital. She indicates, his client has been exhibiting symptoms of brain damage since the incident.

"Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury," Bhola told TMZ.

Notably, on another report by TMZ, it reveals that producers of the show had already "ordered" Miguel not to attempt the dangerous stunt.

According to sources close to the production, the R&B star had already approached producers about wanting to jump over the crowd, but was denied because they deemed the stunt to be "too dangerous."

"But when showtime came around, Miguel blew off the order and producers' fears were realized when he botched the jump and leg dropped a female fan, slamming her head against the stage," wrote the entertainment news site.

According to the report, Khyati has already undergone a number of tests from a neurologist and is just awaiting results by sometime next week. The Attorney also noted, that they will decide whether to push for a lawsuit once they receive the results.
