HTC is currently riding as high as it can on its new flagship handset, the One, but it wasn't too long ago the company produced one the of best Android smartphones to have ever been assembled: the One X. If a new, rather dubious report is to be believed, HTC will continue its support for the smartphone with an Android 4.3 update during the fourth quarter of 2013.

A look at the spreadsheet posted above shows that the HTC One X (including the LTE variant) is apparently one of many older HTC handsets slated to receive Android 4.3. The list comes to us courtesy of Technos Amigos, a website that doesn't have the best track record. There are no sources cited, so HTC One X owners should be cautiously optimistic about the rumor.

Still, HTC has made an effort to keep its older devices updated, even if it is a little slower than rival Samsung. HTC brought a number of its smartphones up to Jelly Bean, and the One X will surely be able to handle Android 4.3, but there's one problem: Android 4.3 hasn't been announced yet.

Nobody is 100 percent sure what Google is planning on releasing as the next Android iteration, although the smart money is on Android 4.3, not Android 5.0, which is believed to have been delayed until a later date, possibly the end of the year. Many expect Android 4.3 to rear its head in new Google Nexus products, like a new Nexus 7 tablet, within the next couple months.
