Wounds from the recent season 4 finale of "The Vampire Diaries" still linger. It's over and it won't return until October. That's a long ways away. Spoilers and news from the set will keep fans satisfied during the long summer months, however, it's not enough. It's not the same as having a new episode to help you get through the treacherous week. Luckily for vampire fans, a new spin-off featuring some of Mystic Falls' best will also be coming to The CW this fall and there's plenty of intriguing details making their way from the set and into the hands of the public.
Three weeks after the network unveiled its fall schedule and provided clips from all five of its new shows, the trailers have finally made it out of hiding. Not only did The CW reveal the official trailer for "The Originals," but also for "Reign," "The Tomorrow People" and "The 100." Check out the preview for "The Originals" below.
"The Originals" will officially premiere on The CW this fall, although the first episodes previously debuted during the fourth season of "The Vampire Diaries." Upon its arrival, the cast will be starting fresh. The prior episodes will serve as a prologue, an introduction to the impending vampire drama "Vampire Diaries" fans have come to know and love.
According to a Spoilers Guide report, a new witch will be joining the cast upon the series' premiere. "There will also be a new character, Davina, played by Danielle Campbell. This character is a witch in New Orleans who gets tied up in Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) return to town. Davina was originally supposed to be in the backdoor pilot, but the part was cut during editing."
