Verizon Wireless began accepting pre-orders for the BlackBerry Q10, and it looks like we have an in-store release date as well now. According to an N4BB report June 10will be the date customers can walk in to a brick-and-mortar retail store and pick up a Q10.
Latinos Post was not able to independently verify the June 10 date. Calls to various Verizon stores around Manhattan resulted in representatives giving a June 6 date. Of course, that could simply be a reference to the "ship by" date on the Verizon BlackBerry Q10 pre-order page.
An email to Verizon was not returned at the time of this article, so stay tuned for more clarification on when exactly the Q10 will finally be available for purchase in Verizon stores.
The BlackBerry Q10 has an immense amount of interest surrounding it before its U.S. launch since it harkens back to the classic BlackBerry QWERTY experience. The handset is still also equipped with a 3.1-inch touchscreen at a 720X720 resolution for those interested in making the transition away from physical buttons. The Q10 is said to be flying off the shelves around the world, outpacing smartphones like the Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 in France.
The Q10 also sports 16GB of memory, 2GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone supports 4G LTE and comes with BlackBerry's new BlackBerry 10 operating system right out of the box.
Verizon Wireless prices the BlackBerry Q10 at $199.99 with a two-year contract. Verizon is offering the phone in black and white.
