"Injustice: Gods Among Us" has become a massive hit for fans of both the fighting game genre and DC Comic characters. Developed by the same studio behind the most recent Mortal Kombat game, NetherRealm, "Injustice" has become a critical and commercial success. Now that the game has started releasing DLC characters, fans have become even more enthralled with the game. So far, of the four confirmed DLC characters that have been promised, "Lobo" and "Batgirl" have been released, as fans argue which characters should fill that last two spots.
Lobo and Batgirl both have their fair share of fans, however, Batgirl has many of the same moves and gadgets as Batman---leading to a feeling that Batgirl is not as worthy of being in the game as Lobo. This is especially apparent in this video of Batman and Batgirl fighting, where their similar styles are shown against each other. Meanwhile, fans have praised Lobo for having a more unique moveset, which includes a mix of brawling and technical options.
Earlier this month, Ed Boon, the head of NetherRealm, released an informal poll to gauge which characters fans want in the game. The clear winners, according to DLCentral, were "Red Hood" and "Zatanna." But the poll left out "Martian Manhunter," because Boon believed he would overpower any of the other candidates in the poll. The poll was not official, so it is unclear if any of these character will eventually make it into the game. Another character rumored to be potentially making an appearance in the game is "Scorpion" from "Mortal Kombat."
Between Martian Manhunter, Red Hood, Zatanna and Scorpion, fan opinion is divided. Time will tell who NetherRealm goes with and if the fans accept these characters as readily as the others.
