Fans of the "Metal Gear Solid" franchise were upset when it was announced that David Hayter, who had voiced "Solid Snake" and "Big Boss" since 1998, would not be returning for "Metal Gear Solid 5," and a new actor would take over the iconic character. But now it appears as if Hayter himself may be hinting that he will be making an appearance once again in the series, as he sent this message via Twitter to his followers:

"I'm so excited for E3! I just hope I don't lose my voice," he posted.

Many fans are taking this as a teaser for Hayter to return again to "Metal Gear Solid," however, this may not be the case. Konami has previously tweeted that the new voice of Snake will be revealed at E3, so it would seem odd to switch back to Hayter, unless fan reaction was so negative that they asked Hayter back to the role. It should be noted that Hayter never wanted to leave the role, but instead, was not asked back for the next game by Konami.

Of course, Hayter did not mention "Metal Gear Solid," so he could be talking about another game or series that he is lending his voice to. He could also be returning to "Metal Gear Solid," but in a different role in the series. Given the fact that Hideo Kojima, the creator of the franchise, is known for mysterious and cryptic announcements before big events, this could very well be a setup for some other big piece of "Metal Gear Solid" news.

It will be interesting to see what this news lead to and what Hayter's role at E3 will be. E3 will be taking place in Los Angeles from June 9 to June 11. Konami will also be holding a special pre-E3 event on June 6 as well.
