Crysis 3 will be releasing the first DLC package for the game, entitled "Crysis 3: The Lost Island". The DLC was announced by EA and Crytek and reported on by Gamespot. "The Lost Island" is a multiplayer-focused expansion and will be out June 4 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for $15. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli had this to say about the DLC:

"The gameplay in the Crysis series has always been deeply connected to the unique environments in which the action takes place...By transporting players out of the Liberty Dome and into the Lost Island setting, we're not only returning to Crysis' spiritual roots, but also introducing fresh ways to play that provide Crysis 3 fans with genuinely game-changing new tactical options, game modes and weapons."

The setting for the DLC is a small island in the Philippines that is 200 miles away from Ling Shan. The island has been invaded by an alien presence and a small band of rebels is sent to destroy the alien forces before a CELL team can take control of the alien technology.

This news was teased yesterday, May 29, and many had assumed that the announcement would be for the DLC for the game. "Crysis 3" was released to solid critical reviews, but sold less than EA and Crytek were expecting. Hopefully, those who did buy the game will find the DLC intriguing enough to purchase the add-on and continue to explore the adventures found within the game. "Crysis 3" and Crytek as a whole are known for pushing the graphical limits of the current consoles and PC to their maximum, so the Crytek series has been known for having some of the best graphics of any system. "The Lost Island" will continue this legacy and satisfy fans until more DLC is released.
