E3 is fast approaching, and although we have already caught glimpses at both the Xbox One and PS4, many of the details about the next-generation of console gaming remain cloudy. Despite the ominous rumors and foreboding tales of always-online and used-game sales, Ubisoft is confident that the new tech will catch.

Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft's CEO, asserts that "This is a pivotal moment for the video game industry, and E3 is the opportunity for us to share our vision for the future," according to Gamespot. "We have many incredible games in development, and we're especially excited to share more on our next-gen titles, which will deliver more connected, immersive, and interactive experiences to our fans."

Ubisoft is set to publish Watch Dogs, one of the marquee next-generation titles, this fall alongside a suite of announced and unannounced games. Like Assassin's Creed 4, Watch Dogs will also launch on the Xbox 360 and PS3 to capitalize on each system's installed base of consumers.

The price points for next-gen consoles have not been confirmed yet, although a Fall 2013 release window is widely accepted by analysts and journalists alike. The PS4 and Xbox One will both feature the ability to capture and share recent gameplay experiences with friends, and pack in 8GB of RAM. The PS4 will have a slight advantage with GDDR5 memory, as opposed to the One's GDDR3 RAM. Microsoft has advertised its next system as an entertainment hub, and has integrated a new version of Kinect into the hardware. The peripheral will be required for the console to function and features greatly enhanced skeletal recognition, a wider range of depth, and the ability to function in complete darkness.
