While Metal Gear Solid 5 is still in early stages of development, creative director Hideo Kojima is hard at work on a new trailer for the sequel, and may debut the new footage at a special Konami press conference on June 6 at 10 a.m, the publisher's next big event.
On his Twitter account, Kojima promises an abundance of gameplay in the next reveal.
The legendary developer also hints that the title's core theme will be clear to those who pay close attention to the new trailer.
Metal Gear Solid 5 will be split up into two games: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. Ground zeroes takes place nearly a decade before the Phantom Pain and stars Big Boss, who was Solid Snake's adversary in MGS1 and the protagonist of MGS3: Snake Eater as well as Peace Walker and Portable Ops.
Surprisingly, voice actor David Hayter will not reprise his role as Big Boss. In an interview with Gamespot, Hayter said that a representative of the production team told him "that they 'wouldn't be needing me on this game'...No reason, or explanation was given beyond that. And that was it...If it were my choice, I would do this role forever...to hear anyone else's voice coming from Snake's battered throat, makes me a little ill, to be honest."
Currently, no release date has been announced for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. No PS4 or Xbox One editions have been announced.
