Best Buy is offering a discount to Apple's iPhone smartphones, however, the deal is for a limited time only.
The retailer is offering a $50 price cut when signing a two-year contract with carriers AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, and Virgin Mobile after purchasing either the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPhone 5.
The $50 cut is only for four weeks, as of May 26, and does not include the 8GB variant of the iPhone 4. The deal occurs as Apple prepares its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where the latest on the Cupertino-based company's software is expected to preview.
According to AllThingsD, Best Buy is also offering discounts to Apple's rival gadgets. Until June 1, Best Buy will offer Samsung's Galaxy S3 for $49, which is $50 off from the original two-year contract price when signing with AT&T or Sprint. The HTC Droid DNA will also be available for $49 when signing with Verizon Wireless, a savings of $150. Finally, the HTC One X is free when signing with AT&T.
The deals for Apple and Samsung come as the Galaxy S4 launched last month and the iPhone 5S speculation grows.
According to Jefferies & Co.'s analyst Peter Misek, the iPhone 5S will be "broadly similar" to the iPhone 5, but with a possible change to the fingerprint sensor.
"There's still a chance it could come in multiple colors. It's a virtual lock that you will get better processors and a 12-megapixel camera. The changes will be largely under the hood, as they were with the 4S," Misek said during an appearance on Bloomberg TV.
Apple is still mum on iPhone 5S details, but CEO Tim Cook previously stated new devices will be introduced "this fall and throughout 2014."
