Curiosity, the mobile app developed by Peter Molyneux and 22cans, has revealed what is in the center of the cube that users have spent six months trying to uncover. The app let players chip away at some 25 billion cubelets until one person discovered the "life changing" secret hidden in the middle of the cube. Well now the secret has been revealed by Eurogamer as an opportunity to be "god of all players" in 22cans latest game, Project Godus, which has been funded by a Kickstarter campaign.
The winner of the game was Bryan Henderson, of Edinburgh, Scotland. By reaching the center of the cube, he had the option of keeping the prize secret, or share with the rest of the Curiosity community. By agreeing to his role for Project Godus, he will dictate the rules of the game, and receive a cut of the money made by the game. Molyneux has shared the video that Henderson saw when he became the winner, which contains this message:
"You, the person who has reached the centre, will be the god of all players. You will intrinsically decide on the rules that the game is played by...And here's the life-changing bit: you will share in the success of the product. Every time people spend money on the product, you will get a small piece of the pie."
Curiosity is the first game from 22cans and Molyneux after he left Microsoft in 2012. The object of the game for the developers was to test out their software's ability to have thousands of players around the world working on a singular goal. While some feel that the reveal was overhyped by Molyneux, it certainly is a big deal to the winner, and perhaps we shall see some innovative new ideas from the Fable creator's next project.
