Now, even young girls are raving about the Miss USA pageant, but not for the reasons you may think.
On Tuesday, pageant officials and NBC---the official television partner of the competition---announced that pop star Nick Jonas will be among the hosts of the event. Co-hosting the beauty pageant with Jonas is E! News anchor and entertainment personality, Giuliana Rancic.
"We are excited to announce a veteran and a newcomer as hosts for this year's Miss USA competition," said Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, as quoted by UPI.com.
"The diverse backgrounds of Rancic and Jonas in the entertainment industry will bring a new and exciting energy to the stage."
Jonas is famously known as one-third of the pop boy band, the Jonas Brothers. The remaining members of the singing group are his two brothers Joe and Kevin. The band has produced plenty of hits from their days on the Disney Channel up until now, including SOS, When You Look Me in the Eyes, Burnin' Up and their recent hit, Pom Poms. Nick has also starred on TV, including the Disney Channel movies Camp Rock and Camp Rock II: The Final Jam. The brothers also had a TV show on the channel entitled Jonas. The pop star is also currently filming for his upcoming feature debut.
This will also be the first time that Nick Jonas will be hosting the Donald Trump-headed pageant. Last year, Nick's older brother, Joe, was among the panel of judges in the pageant. The brothers are also expected to perform during the competition.
As for Rancic, a frequent host of such events, she will be revisiting familiar territory as she also hosted the competition last year.
The 62nd Annual Miss USA competition will air on Sunday, June 16, at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
