And the new Dancing with the Stars winner is...Kellie Pickler!
After weeks of competition and performing numerous dance numbers, the winner of the Mirror Ball trophy has finally been announced at last night's DWTS live finale show on ABC. And grabbing the win was country singer and breast cancer advocate, Kellie Pickler.
"This is amazing," the former American Idol contestant said before running into the arms of partner Derek Hough as the two were announced winners.
The singer beat three other celebs that made it in this week's finale, including Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman, Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman and 2013 Super Bowl Champion Jacoby Jones.
And hearing Tom Bergeron announce her name as winner, Pickler was shocked and ecstatic upon realizing that she had won the 10-week dance competition. Her co-stars were just as happy for her win. Ravens Wide Receiver, Jones, even lifted the singer onto his shoulders while the singer clasped the trophy in her hand.
Hough also had some warm words to Pickler's grandfather who had always wanted the two to be partners for the show. After being proclaimed winner, the dancer, who now has four Mirror Ball trophies, shouted: "Grandpa Ken, we got you the trophy, buddy!"
This season's DWTS was unlike any of the past 15 seasons. Injuries have plagued contestants, while score tallies got tighter every week. Zendaya was among the favorites in the competition after winning for several weeks. Yet, in the finale, the competition was an even field as the scenario got tighter and hotter.
The final shows started on Monday with the final four couples dancing three different numbers: freestyle, a judge's pick and a cha-cha relay. Kellie and Derek, Aly and Mark Ballas, Jacoby and Karina Smirnoff and Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy had battled it out on the dance floor. But come Tuesday night's finale show, Raisman and Ballas were the first ones sent home even before the final freestyle dance.
"My whole life all I've ever known is gymnastics, so to try something new has just been amazing and just one of the best experiences of my life," the Olympic gymnast said on the show.
The freestyle dances got more intense with each one giving their all out on the floor. Unsurprisingly, all of the three couples who left got a perfect 30 from the judges.
And Pickler certainly enjoyed the overall experience.
"I just feel like I let all of my walls down and I just got out there and just did my little dance. I just let myself go. There was a freedom, in a sense, that I felt...Regardless of what happens tomorrow, I feel like I've accomplished so much being here," the country singer told People,
At the end of it all, however, it was Kellie who brought home the trophy and the title of Dancing with the Stars Season 16 winner.
Joining Tuesday's live finale shows were other superstars, including singers Jessica Sanchez, Pitbull and Psy.
