Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that mexican singer Paulina Rubio will be one of the new judges on the The X Factor, the popular singing competition that airs on Fox.

Rubio will make her debut alongside former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland who will also be joining the third season panelist lineup. They will sit alongside Demi Lovato and producer Simon Cowell at the judges' table.

"I love The X Factor I can not wait to find the next big star here in the US. I'm So excited to be part of the show as a judge." Rubio said.

"Simon, be careful with what you wish for, let's see if you're ready to handle me. Empieza la fiesta, amigo!"

Cowell, meanwhile, expressed his satisfaction at being surrounded by three women for the first time since his debut as a judge on the musical show.

"It has taken more than a decade, but I'm fascinated to finally be on a panel with three girls (I think!)."

"Paulina and Kelly have great taste and have massive experience in the music industry, and along with Demi, this is going to be a fun panel. It seems to be the time to do something different," said Simon Cowell in the letter.

The agreements were signed Monday afternoon and production work on the new season of the show is expected to begin today for an autumn release this year, according to EW.

Auditions to select participants began in March and the final stage of selection is expected to start this month---a portion of the show that has already included the new judging lineup.

And both Rubio and Rowland have experience as judges in musical contests. Rubio appeared in Mexico's The Voice and Rowland starred in the British edition of The X Factor, adding value to their role as judges.

Paulina Rubio was born in 1971 in Mexico City and started off her career as a member of the teen group Timbiriche. She launched her debut solo album in 1991 and had a succesful singing career in Latin American before crossing over to the english market in 2002 with the album Border Girl. She has since sold over 20 million albums worldwide and could most recently be seen as a judge in the mexican talent program La Voz.
