The next-gen Xbox will be shown off tomorrow, May 21, along with several games that are also slated to make an appearance. Call of Duty: Ghosts is one such game that will be shown at the event---another major franchise that will be in attendance at the show which begins at 10 AM PST, or 1 PM ET.
FIFA 14, the newest game in the popular soccer franchise, will display the next-gen Xbox version of the game at the event, according to the EA Sports FIFA Facebook page.
This will be the first hint that the game will be available in next-gen format. As of now, the popular soccer game is only confirmed for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. While many thought that a jump to the next-gen would be likely for the title and many other EA Sports games in development, this would be the first chance to see FIFA brought to the next-gen platform.
Another interesting twist in the series is the rumor that EA, which was noticeably left out of much of the PlayStation 4 reveal, could have a special deal with Microsoft in place to deliver special content or timed exclusives to the next Xbox. This may explain why EA and FIFA 14 will be at the reveal event tomorrow. FIFA 14 was originally rumored to be shown at E3, and not the Xbox reveal event.
FIFA 14 will introduce many new elements into the classic soccer franchise. The game will feature improved ball physics, as well as different shooting mechanics to account for off-balance shots on goal. The development team has also come up with more organic and intelligent A.I. for teammates, allowing for the most realistic soccer video game ever. EA confirmed that neither woman soccer players or female teams will be included in the game.
The game comes out to current consoles Sept. 29, with a next-gen release date dependent upon the next-gen console's release.
