Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao is one of the most talked about stars on the market. Recent rumors linked the Colombian star to Monaco. However, Falcao dismissed the rumors and emphasized that his focus was on winning the Copa Del Rey final against Real Madrid on Friday.
"All I am focused on is Atletico Madrid," Falcao told members of the press at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
Regarding the move to Monaco, Falcao stated, "I don't know anything. I am at the margin of everything that has been said."
He also took a jab at the media for its relentless speculation. "According to the media I have signed for half of Europe; for Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid," he noted. "For me, these reports have no type of credibility. Six months after I arrived here they were linking me with teams all over Europe."
Falcao has been linked with such clubs as Chelsea and Manchester United. However, Falcao noted earlier in the year that he wanted to remain in Madrid.
"I have a contract with Atletico for three more years, therefore, that's the best option," Falcao said back in February. "As a group we have the clear goal of qualifying for the Champions League. If we maintain the same level that we have showed, we will achieve our objectives... We are not thinking about either [Real] Madrid or Barcelona, we are focusing on what we can give and on our objectives."
Atletico Madrid currently sits in third place in the Spanish league and has clinched a spot in next year's Champions league. This fact alone likely means that Falcao may stay in Spain's capital until his club is eliminated from the tournament.
