Metal Gear Solid and Konami fans will be getting a special treat before the E3 conference June 9-11, as the publisher will be holding a special pre-E3 news conference June 6 at 10 a.m PST. The livestream will be held on Gamespot and the Gamespot TV app on Xbox Live.
While Konami will be discussing a wide variety of topics during the live stream, the highlight will be more details about the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5. Metal Gear Solid 5 is actually two separate games, the prequel Ground Zeroes, and The Phantom Pain. Konami will be giving a special presentation offering more information about The Phantom Pain exclusively to Gamespot before the E3 conference.
Other games will also be shown off during this pre-E3 showcase. A brand new trailer for the next Castlevania game, Castlevania: Lord of Shadows 2 will be shown at the event as well. Pro Evolution Soccer will also make an appearance, and behind the scenes footage of the game's creation will be on hand for the conference.
CBS Television Studios, whose parent company, CBS Corp, also owns Gamespot, will be promoting the online news feed with television commercials in various major markets, making it the first time that an online news stream will be promoted in a national TV ad campaign.
Both games that comprise Metal Gear Solid 5 are hotly anticipated by fans, though both games currently do not have a release date yet. Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes takes place nine years before the events of The Phantom Pain, and tells the story of how Big Boss gets put into a coma that he wakes up from in the beginning of The Phantom Pain. We shall see if Konami announces when gamers can expect to see Metal Gear Solid 5 in stores during their live stream.
