The hottest couple in pro sports was the talk of the town again as Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn visited the TPC Sawgrass course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Sunday to watch boyfriend Tiger Woods win his second-ever Players Championship.
As CBS Sports.com reports, Vonn was in town for the prestigious tournament this weekend to watch Woods, the No.1-ranked pro golfer in the world, take home the top prize in the Players Championship tourney. A picture is posted on the website of a smiling, sunbathed Vonn taking in the action at the tournament.
She might have provided a little luck to Woods, who emerged from a battle with bitter rival Sergio Garcia in the last day of the tournament to win the Players Championship for the second time since his victory in 2001 at TPC Sawgrass. The win also marks his fourth tournament win of the year.
Vonn, who has been busy rehabbing her torn ACL in the hopes of returning to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, has been more visible with Woods in the public eye ever since they confirmed their relationship on Facebook in March. Though the couple is still relatively tight-lipped about their relationship, Vonn has spoken briefly of finding joy in her new relationship with Woods.
Last week, the pair were seen in New York City for an event at the Met Gala. According to the New York Daily News, Woods was reportedly drunk at the event.
At the last tourney Woods participated in, the 2013 PGA Masters tournament, Vonn's ex-husband, skier Thomas Vonn, made some headlines when he claimed to be responsible for alerting PGA officials that Woods had committed a playing violation during live coverage of the tournament. The violation nearly got Woods disqualified, but he continued to play in the tournament, although he was penalized two strokes; Woods lost the tournament.
There has been some wedding bells buzz around the two after reports that Woods had earned the approval of Vonn's parents recently. Linda Krohn, Vonn's mother confirmed that she liked her daughter's new boyfriend.
"We are excited about Lindsey and Tiger being together," said Linda Krohn about the relationship. "We really like him."
