As speculation mounts about future Injustice: Gods Among Us DLC, NetherRealm Studios head honcho Ed Boon has provided fans with a choice to directly voice their character choices through a poll on Twitter.
The choices for potential characters were: Blue Beetle, Doctor Fate, Powergirl, Red Hood, Static Shock, Swamp Thing and Zatanna. While the results of the survey would not ensure the winner a spot in the game, it certainly would help the developer choose which characters NetherRealm should consider out of the monumental roster DC has created in their decades upon decades of publication.
One interesting note is that Martian Manhunter was left off the list, but according to Polygon, this was because Boon believes that the superhero would eat up votes on the survey, due to his popularity as a choice for the game's DLC. This could mean that Martian Manhunter could be the next DLC to appear, judging from the fact that he is popular enough to be not on the survey.
So far, Injustice: Gods Among Us has released one new DLC Character for the game, Lobo, and announced another, Batgirl. In addition, new sets of skins for existing characters have also been released through DLC. NetherRealm has stated that at least four new characters would be introduced to the game through DLC, as the game's season pass only covers four new characters. However, the game is proving to be quite popular, and could have bonus characters introduced as well. We shall have to see if Martian Manhunter and any of the characters mentioned in the survey eventually make it into the game.
